A message from June 1, 2026 from Supervisor Justin Lofton, District 1:
Town of Summit, McComb and Osyka residents, trash cans are being delivered starting today.
Please note that not every resident will receive a can on the first day. Deliveries may take up to a week to complete.
Also, purchasing an extra can from Lowe’s or another retailer will not allow you to avoid the required service fees. The carts being distributed by Waste Management contain tracking technology that allows their location to be monitored.
If your cart is misplaced or stolen, Waste Management can track and recover it.
If you live outside of city limits, you’ll start receiving yours closer to July, as the County has a more complex system to rollout, but they’re coming soon.

There will be a Town of Summit work session and board meeting the first and second Tuesday of every month respectively!
Meeting times are normally at 5:30PM but are subject to change based on holidays, town business or elections!
Meeting dates and times this month:
Work session Tuesday June 1, 2026 at 5:30PM
Board meeting Tuesday June 8, 2026 at 5:30PM!
The board work session and board meeting agendas will be posted on the Town of Summit,MS Facebook page on meeting days!
All government offices are closed today in observance of Veterans Day !
